Our inaugural ‘Women In Power’ luncheon is an event that promises to be a remarkable celebration of progress and empowerment. As we embark on this exciting journey, we have chosen a venue of profound significance: the iconic Parliament House, specifically the esteemed Strangers’ Restaurant.
The Strangers’ Restaurant, once known as the ‘Members Dining Room,’ has a rich history steeped in tradition. It was a space exclusively reserved for male Members until 1966, when a trailblazing woman, Mrs. Ellen ‘Vi’ Jordan, emerged as the second female to be elected to the Queensland Parliament. With grace and determination, she boldly asserted her right to dine in this very establishment, paving the way for future generations of women to claim their space in the halls of power.
In paying tribute to Mrs. Ellen Jordan’s remarkable achievement, we find it fitting to launch our first ‘Women In Power’ event in this hallowed venue. It serves as a poignant reminder of the progress we have made and the countless possibilities that lie before us.
This luncheon promises to be a harmonious blend of inspiration, networking, and thought-provoking discussions that will propel us forward as we strive for excellence and equality.
We sincerely hope you will join us for this momentous occasion at the Strangers’ Restaurant in Parliament House. The luncheon will be an elegant affair befitting the significance of our cause. Prepare to be inspired, empowered, and surrounded by like-minded individuals who share your passion for progress and success.
We eagerly anticipate your presence as we embark on this extraordinary endeavour together. RSVP at your earliest convenience to secure your place at this distinguished gathering of exceptional women. Upon reserving your ticket, you will be prompted to finalise your menu selection for the 2 course meal in advance. Payment will also be required – we have secured a reduced price of $59 per person.
